A commemorative plaque on the wall of City Hall
The 1956 memorial plaque in Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe) was erected in 1996 by the Association of Former Political Prisoners. The memorial commemorates the Transylvanian victims of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence, as well as those persecuted by the communist dictatorship. Every year, the town’s residents and leaders visit the memorial to lay wreaths and hold commemorative ceremonies.
